WE TOOK PART IN THE AWARDS CEREMONY OF THE INNOVATECH PROGRAMME

Yesterday morning, at the Universidad Laboral de A Coruña, the awards ceremony of the Innovatech FP 2025 programme took place. The delivery of this recognition, promoted by the Xunta de Galicia, promotes collaboration between companies and Vocational Training through challenges focused on innovation proposed by the companies participating in the programme, as is the case of Cuevas y Cía.

This year, more than 60 teams from 37 Galician schools participated, and among all of them, the winner was the team from CIFP A Farixa, from Ourense. The project they developed focused on improving the chestnut peeling process to produce our unmistakable marron glacé.
The winning project was developed by Irene Orozco, Víctor Pérez, Pedro Conforto, Alexandre Malingre and coordinated by Álvaro Selas. Their proposal aims to modernise the chestnut peeling process by incorporating innovative solutions such as an automated system with rollers and pressurised water, and intelligent classification with artificial vision and AI. The aim is to improve the quality of the product, reduce working times and optimise resources in the production of marron glacé.

The awards ceremony was attended by Román Rodríguez, Regional Minister of Education, Science, Universities and Vocational Training; and Rocío Cid, manager of Cuevas y Cía, who also participated in the awards ceremony.
